Dust Control and Containment When the Family Is Home
Cutting engineered stone releases respirable crystalline silica. That is not a marketing angle, it is the reason Australia banned engineered stone outright in 2024 and why California wrote emergency fabrication rules the year before. The dust is a hazard to the people cutting it and a mess for everyone else.
Our answer is the industry’s answer: the cutting happens wet, and it happens at our shop under water suppression, never on a tarp in your garage.
What does happen in your house is small: a cooktop opening adjusted, a faucet hole tweaked, a seam dressed. For those we run plastic containment at the doorways, seal the return vents in the room, cut wet where we cut at all, and vacuum with HEPA before we roll anything up.

Yes. Template and install are two separate visits because the slab is cut at the shop, but we compress the gap between them as tightly as fabrication allows. How do you keep dust down while we live here?
